Cape Comedy Club at the Pumphouse

Share:

So what do you do if you are invited to the Cape Comedy Club? You say yes, off course. Thanks to beautiful Letishia Charles the owner of Queen Bee Hospitality Marketing I got to visit Cape Comedy Club for the first time – I know, right? – but it is true it was for the first time. I guess it is because there are simply so many things you can do in Cape Town. Being spoiled for choice it sometimes takes a little while until you get around to try it all, but here was my chance and I took it.

The Cape Comedy Club is based in the Pumphouse right at the V&A Waterfront and it entertains almost every day of the week. As the schedule changes often go have a look online and check what suits you best. The tickets start from R 50 to R 190 depending on the artist and you can order some lekker barfood.

However, on the day my job was not only to laugh at all the jokes, eat great food an drink cocktails but also to make some noise via Twitter. #Tweetseats gave us the chance to take over social media as a team and I must say it was a lot of fun. Take eight social media addicts and put them around one table and you will see some serious action online. On top of that I made a lot of new friends. To name a few, I finally got to meet Nadine Carroll from @LivingItUpCT and Roxanne Amy La Vita from @WittyWineWoman in person, who I had been interacting only online so far.

The acts for the evening where Devin Gray, Obed Plaatjes and hottie Siv Ngesi (seriously check out the abbs!). The headline was well known KG and our host for the night was Dugald Pieterse. I loved all of them but KG stole the show. He was hilarious and I almost did not feel so bad anymore that I had skipped workout that night or that I had ordered that way too delicious pizza (they make some dangerous delicious pizza!!!).

Now I won’t start telling you any jokes. We all know how this ends for Germans but I can tell you my abs where working over time.

So, if you are a Cape Comedy Club virgin – like myself – make sure to visit them. You are sure to have a really great evening with delicious food and some giggles! I know I will be back!
